For clients
Hiring that starts with the brief and ends with someone who stays.
Romwood finds project managers, cost consultants, site managers and engineers for consultancies, contractors and client-side teams in the UK and the US. We take the brief, search the market directly, interview every candidate against your brief and manage the offer through to start date.
- From brief to start date
- A replacement guarantee on every search
- One point of contact throughout
How an assignment runs
From brief to start date.
-
Brief
We take the brief on a video call, or in person where that works for both sides. We learn the role, the team, the projects and why the role exists. We agree what good looks like and how we will run the search.
-
Search
We map the market and approach the right people directly. Most of the best candidates are not looking. We go and find them.
-
Shortlist
You see a small number of qualified people, each interviewed by us against your brief. Every one comes with our honest view of their fit.
-
Interviews
We prepare both sides, run the logistics and gather feedback the same day. If something is drifting, we tell you early.
-
Offer
Salary, notice and start date were settled at the start, so the offer is a confirmation, not a negotiation. We manage the resignation and the counter offer.
-
After they start
We stay in touch through the notice period and the first months. If something is not working, we hear about it early enough to fix it.
What we need from you
A real brief and quick feedback.
- A proper conversation about the role. Half an hour is enough to start.
- The truth about the team, the projects and the pipeline. Candidates ask, and we would rather answer honestly.
- Feedback on CVs and interviews within a couple of days. Good candidates do not wait.
- A decision maker in the process. Long chains of sign-off lose people.
- The salary you are willing to pay, not the one you hope to pay.
What you can expect
Straight talk, from start to finish.
The same on every assignment, in the UK and the US.
One point of contact
The person who takes the brief runs the search and manages the offer.
Regular updates
You hear from us on a set day each week, even if the update is that the market is quiet.
Honest market feedback
If the salary is low, the brief is unrealistic or the process is losing people, we say so.
No surprises at offer
Everything that could derail an offer is dealt with before it is made.
Clear terms, agreed up front
We put the terms in writing before we start, and every assignment carries a replacement guarantee.
Only the people you asked for
We do not send speculative CVs. If a CV arrives from us, it is because you briefed us.
Commercial terms are discussed directly, on the first call.
Common questions
What clients ask us first.
- How does a search with Romwood run?
- We take the brief, map the market and approach the right people directly, then send a short shortlist of candidates we have interviewed against your brief. We prepare both sides for interview, settle salary and notice before the offer stage, and stay in touch through the notice period and the first months.
- Do you send speculative CVs?
- No. A CV only arrives from us because you briefed us on a role, and only with the candidate's clear yes for your firm.
- Do you work with US clients?
- Yes. We work with consultancies, contractors and owners in New York and Texas on the same terms and the same process as in the UK.
- What do you need from us to start?
- A proper conversation about the role, an honest picture of the team and the pipeline, quick feedback on CVs and interviews, a decision maker in the process, and the salary you are willing to pay.
- What happens if a placement does not work out?
- Every assignment carries a replacement guarantee, with the terms put in writing before we start.
